Public Housing Authorities urge individuals to update waiting list applications
Applicants must update information by Feb. 10, 2026, to remain on the waiting lists
Delaware’s five public housing authorities urge individuals who have applied to the state’s centralized waiting list for Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) and public housing to update their application information to remain active.
Individuals must update their application or confirm “Everything Looks Good” by Feb. 10, 2026.
Applicants who have not updated their applications in over one year who do not take action by Feb. 10, 2026, will have their application withdrawn from the waiting lists for all five housing authorities in Delaware, in accordance with program requirements.
The required update is a part of the state’s centralized waiting list system, which allows applicants to manage and confirm their information through a single, secure online portal available at AffordableHousing.com.
“We strongly encourage all waiting list applicants to update their application to remain active on the centralized waiting list. We know that many individuals regularly log in and update their information, but we need every single person who has applied to manage their application. Taking that step ensures that housing authorities have the ability to contact you and confirms your continued interest in receiving assistance,” said DSHA Director Matthew Heckles. “Having an updated centralized waiting list ensures the state’s five public housing authorities have accurate data on housing needs to best serve Delawareans.”
Participating housing authorities include:
- Dover Housing Authority (DHA)
- Newark Housing Authority (NHA)
To update your application, complete the following steps by Feb. 10, 2026:
- Log in or create an account at www.AffordableHousing.com/update
- Review your application and make needed changes.
- If no changes are needed, select “Everything Looks Good” to confirm and submit your update.
Applicants may view the status of their applications at any time by logging into their AffordableHousing.com account. For information, visit delaware.affordablehousing.com or call 855-301-5920 (TTY and translation services available).
