Resident Homeownership Program (RHP)
This program offers eligible DSHA assisted housing residents the option of purchasing a home. Qualified participants will have the opportunity to purchase a home utilizing their existing assistance toward the mortgage.
How To Apply
- Make sure you (the borrower) meet all borrower requirements.
- Download and review the provided program documents for further application instructions and forms.
Availability of Funds
Funds are currently available.
Borrower Qualifications
- Selected participants interested in participating in the Resident Homeownership Program must be a DSHA resident in either the Public Housing Program or Section 8 Choice Home Voucher Program.
- Yearly income must be at least $18,000. (Elderly and disabled residents are excluded from this requirement.)
- Head of household or spouse must be employed full-time (at least 30 hours per week) and have been continuously employed for one full year before commencement of participation in the program. (Elderly and disabled residents are excluded from this requirement.)
- Participants must qualify as a "first-time homebuyer." (Elderly and disabled residents are excluded from this requirement.)
- Participants must be in full compliance with their current lease and program requirements.
- Participants must be prepared to pay at least one percent (1%) of the cost of the home toward the downpayment.
