Prospective Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Landlords
The success of the tenant-based, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program in Kent and Sussex Counties is dependent on the participation of private landlords and property owners. If you are interested in leasing a unit to a HCV participant, you can access valuable program information and documents here.
Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (HRLP)
This program offers loans of up to $35,000 at 3% interest rates to low- and moderate-income home owners and landlords who rent to low-income tenants in order to make necessary State Housing Code repairs or handicapped- accessibility modifications.
Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) - Kent/Sussex Counties
Each year, Kent and Sussex County and local municipalities within these counties apply to DSHA for a portion of this federal grant money. DSHA administers the funds to these governmental entities, which in turn use the money to help repair substandard housing and make infrastructure improvements in needy areas of each county. Municipalities can request sewer and water system improvements, street repairs, street lights and other infrastructure improvements that support low- and moderate-income housing development.
Affordable Housing Resource Center
The Delaware State Housing Authority's "Affordable Housing Resource Center" is a resource for local government officials and public viewers to learn about resources to help address their community's housing needs.
Neighborhood Assistance Act Program (NAA)
The Delaware Neighborhood Assistance Act of 1999 encourages companies and individuals that pay Delaware income taxes to invest in neighborhood organizations by offering tax credits to offset their Delaware tax liability. Contributions can be made in the form of goods, services or a direct financial contribution to a qualified neighborhood organization.
